Senate vote on emergency food funds
As Lawrence mentioned in tonight's Rewrite, tomorrow the Senate Appropriations Committee will be voting on an Agriculture Appropriations Bill that passed in the House back in June. It includes deep cuts to international emergency food assistance. Cuts that United Nations officials say will cost lives. If you want to contact the member of the Senate Appropriations Committee from your state to make your voice heard ahead of tomorrow's vote, please use the information below.

God Bless you! You are a very brave man to bring attention to hunger. You are a brave man to quote the BIBLE. I love your show. You are the real deal Lawrence.
God Bless you once again.

This is a new low for the Right. If starving impoverished people (especially children) do not get sympathy, I don't know how working and middle class Americans will. It sickens me!

What is happening to our country?! We can't let this happen. America always had a big heart. Don't let these politicians get away with this terrible bill.

Anyone who votes to cut the funding for emergency food relief will show just how powerful our elected office is. They have began to do this in our own country to our own most unfortunate, why not all?

Regarding the opponents that is, the Republicans that are claiming to not supplying food donations to Somalia where thousands are suffering from lack of food. I agree whole-heartedly with Mr. Hoffa Jr. that they are real "sons of bitches" and need to be voted out of office!!!!

Please save the Christian tears for the people in our own country !st!
I personally give 10% to charity and don't want or need Washington screwballs doing anymore than they already are. They can't even agree on a jobs bill!
Please leave donations to the private sector.
They won't listen if you contact them, if you disagree with their position. Even if they only won by 1% of the votes, they claim to have a 'mandate' from them that brought them to the dance. They don't feel any obligation listen to any of what the other 49% of the people that they are supposed to 'represent' have to say. This is Obama's high point, as well as his low. He's trying to represent all of the people of the United States, not just those that brung him. He's just not being allowed to.
Don't know if it will make a difference, but I just spent a while composing an e-mail pleading for a no vote from my state senator. I don't know how these people can live with this decision if the bill passes, I really don't.

I just emailed my Senator also. However, I don't think it will do any good. He is a sheep, always standing behind Boehner and Cantor with a stupid grin on his face. Do any of these guys have a heart?
Silly girl, this is government not charity. This is borrowed money mostly from the Red Chinese your children will suffer the debt of. Government's role is to protect the delivery of charity not to get a vote if for a politician that shows he cares with others money.
Why is it always Africa we need to Help? Never Germany, India, Russia, Philippines, pls advise. Why hasn't Obummer said a thing about Somalia.
