Republican state Sen. Scott Brown has defeated Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley in the special election for the Senate seat left vacant by the death of Ted Kennedy, according to the AP. Brown's upset victory brings an end to the Democrats' 60-seat majority in the Senate and could have serious implications for the health care reform legislation before Congress.
