Conservative media fearmonger that Fox News is part of White House "enemies list"
Following White House criticism of Fox News for its ideological slant, conservative media figures are again fearmongering that the White House has an "enemies list," and that Fox News is -- in the words of Glenn Beck -- "another enemy" that "warmongers" in the Obama administration would fight with "missiles pointed right at Fox." Sean Hannity claimed the White House is "promising retribution," and conservative radio host Mark Levin said, "[L]et me be clear -- there is an enemies list, a political hit list that this administration has. Just as Castro did, and Chavez and Stalin." Read More
Washington Examiner falsehood: "$373 million in stimulus money for better vending machine food"
On October 14, The Washington Examiner ran the false headline, "Michelle: $373 million in stimulus money for better vending machine food." However, Michelle Obama, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Examiner article itself contradict the headline; HHS will award $373 million to communities through a competitive grant process for "comprehensive" programs -- one component of which could include healthier  vending machine food -- that would "reduce obesity." Serial smearer Corsi's explanation for mortgage bubble loaded with falsehoods aimed at Dems
Appearing on Hannity to promote his latest book, America for Sale, author Jerome Corsi purported to explain the causes of the mortgage bubble by advancing a litany of falsehoods and misinformation: repeating the myth that the Community Reinvestment Act was responsible for the bubble; claiming that President Obama was tied to the housing bubble through conservative bogeyman ACORN; and falsely suggesting that Obama lowered interest rates to "zero or close to zero." Corsi has previously written falsehood-laden books about Obama and Sen. John Kerry, has claimed that Obama posted online a "false, fake birth certificate," and has a history of controversial comments about Islam, Catholicism, progressives, and other matters. Read More
Fox and other media conservatives still in denial about cost and popularity of public option
Fox News personalities and other conservative media figures have recently claimed or suggested either that a public health insurance option is unpopular among the American public, that it is costly, or both. But they ignored that numerous major public opinion polls contradict their claims; that both the House and Senate health care reform bills require the public plan to be self-sustaining; that the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) concluded that a public option did "not have a substantial effect on the cost" of the Senate health committee bill; and that numerous experts agree that a public plan is important to help control the cost of health care. Watch this video - Kraft Foods will donate money to feed the hungry

Dear Friends and Family,

Watch this video and Kraft Foods Foundation will donate money to feed the hungry

More than 12,000 Kraft Foods employees recently participated in our first-ever global week of community service – "Make a Delicious Difference Week."  Employees around the world created this video to help spread the volunteer spirit.

Each time it's viewed, the Kraft Foods Foundation will donate money to Feeding America to help provide five meals to those at risk of hunger -- up to 100,000 meals through the end of October 2009.

In additon to our volunteer efforts, last week Kraft also doubled the financial contributions that we made to our favorite non-for-profit charities, totally up to $1 million dollars.  We had similar opportunity for a double match in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday in January.  7 of my favorite charities were thrilled with their matching contributions!

So, please, check out this short video, pass it along to your friends and family, put it on your Facebook page, just get the word out.  Every click before Oct 31st will provide 5 meals to the hungry.

Memo to the media: Fox News is now the Opposition Party
Fox News has changed the rules. Now the press needs to change the way it covers Fox News. Read More
Fox News accuses Obama of delaying troop deployment to win Nobel Peace Prize
Fox News personalities have reacted to President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize by accusing Obama of -- in the words of Fox News contributor Dick Morris -- "delaying the decision to commit troops to Afghanistan" in order to "win this prize." Responding to initial reports that Obama was awarded the peace prize, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade said he was "wondering" whether the Nobel charter "has anything to do with the delay of the deployment of 40,000 troops in Afghanistan," adding, "If you add forces to a war, you can't win." After repeatedly smearing people with falsehoods, Beck claims "the things that we are saying ... are true"
Attacking White House communications director Anita Dunn for saying that Fox News is "undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House" and suggesting the network is not a "legitimate news organization," Glenn Beck asserted of his attacks against Obama administration officials, "[T]he things that we are saying have been checked out; they are true." In fact, Beck has repeatedly made false statements in his witch hunt against Obama administration officials, such as calling Van Jones "a convicted felon" and claiming that Cass Sunstein "believes that everyone must be an organ donor." Fox's news programs echo its "opinion" shows: Smears, doctored videos, GOP talking points
Fox News has responded to White House criticisms of its network by claiming that while its "editorial" programs are filled with "vibrant opinion," its news hours are straight and objective. However, Fox News' purportedly straight news programs echo its "editorial" programs: Media Matters for America has compiled a non-exhaustive list -- from this year alone -- documenting how Fox's news programming features smears, falsehoods, doctored and deceptive editing, and GOP talking points. Limbaugh's "color-blind" history of racially charged comments
On October 12, Rush Limbaugh responded to accusations that he is "insensitive" and has a "blind spot" about race by claiming that he is "colorblind," "treat[s] everybody equally" and that he "doesn't see [President Obama] as black," but rather as "president of the United States." In fact, Limbaugh has an extensive history of making racially charged remarks about minorities and routinely race-baits while criticizing Obama and his policies, such as saying that Obama is a "reverse racist" and that his economic policies amount to "reparations." Fox News runs with faulty industry-funded "study" of Baucus bill
Fox News has seized upon a study conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) for America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), which concluded that under the Senate Finance Committee health care reform bill, "by 2019 the cost of single coverage is expected to increase by $1,500 more than it would under the current system and the cost of family coverage is expected to increase by $4,000 more than it would under the current system," in some cases reporting the study's conclusions as fact. However, health care experts have noted that, in the words of health care economist Len Nichols, "Aside from the obvious conflict of interest associated with a report funded by the very industry it analyzes, PWC's basic analytic assumptions -- by their own admission -- are at variance with the bill and the opinions of most analysts." Beck continues long history of invoking Nazis by comparing Fox to the Jews during the Holocaust
During the October 13 edition of his radio show, Glenn Beck likened the Obama administration's treatment of Fox News to Nazi persecution of Jews, telling other media outlets: "When they're done with Fox, and you decide to speak out on something," it would be like "[t]he old, 'first they came for the Jews, and I wasn't Jewish.' " Beck has a long history of invoking the Holocaust, the Nazi Party, and Adolf Hitler to smear the Obama administration, other progressive individuals and organizations, and the media; indeed, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) previously criticized Beck for comparing Al Gore's efforts to raise awareness of global warming to the Holocaust.
