International Opportunities at MED Week 2010! Scheduled for August 23 - 27, 2010 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, the 2010 National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Conference will provide a comprehensive platform for Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) to expand into global markets. With demand for American products and services on the rise and minority firms twice as likely to export compared to non-minority firms, this Conference is designed to equip you with the tools and resources you need to grow in a global economy. Among the full array of workshops and sessions geared towards explaining the complexities of international trade, the event sponsor, the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is pleased to co-host a reception with the South African Embassy on Tuesday, August 24th, from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. This event will be a great opportunity to meet potential African trading partners in the informal atmosphere of an evening reception. Both, the MBDA National Director, David Hinson, and the South African Ambassador, Ebrahim Rasool, are scheduled to speak. MED Week will kick-off with a Mentor-Protege Program hosted by SBA on Monday, and culminate on Friday with the signature MED Week Awards Gala, where the Nation's most successful MBE firms will be recognized for their contributions to the national economy and their community.
