The 2010 National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Conference hosted by the Minority Business Development Agency, a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce will provide a comprehensive platform for Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) to expand into global markets. With demand for American products and services on the rise and minority firms twice as likely to export compared to non-minority firms, this Conference is designed to equip you with the tools and resources you need to grow in a global economy.

Scheduled for August 25 - 27, 2010 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, MED Week is a tremendous opportunity to come hear Government officials outline the Administration's National Export Initiative and participate in a full array of workshops about the nuts and bolts of exporting. Learn about the value of exhibiting at international trade fairs and how to join trade missions. Attend evening networking receptions at the country embassies from Asia, Latin America and Africa.

By registering for the 28th National MED Week Conference, you will also become eligible to meet corporate and government procurement representatives with more than $20 billion in forecasted opportunities at the MED Week Business to Business Forum.

In support of additional Administration priorities focused on fostering the growth and competitiveness of minority-owned firms, the 2010 MED Week Conference will include sessions, such as:

  • Deepwater Oil Spill Opportunities
  • Haiti Reconstruction Opportunities
  • The Power of Indian Country
  • Renewable and Alternative Energy Opportunities
  • Sustainable Green Opportunities (Environmental)
  • Trends in Bonding, Financing, and Wealth Management
