Les Leopold: The captains of high finance are demanding that we reduce public debt, which we ran up to bail them out and deal with the mass unemployment they caused. That takes a lot of nerve. First they crash the system and run away with a fat pocket of cash. Then they demand that we clean up our financial act or they won't loan out any money.
