The White House has asked the Justice Department to consider alternate locations for the planned Manhattan trials of self-professed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other alleged terrorists, according to news reports. The shift came after Mayor Bloomberg, who had supported the decision to hold the trails there, asked the Justice Department to reconsider on Wednesday, and a host of New York politicians then joined him in calling for the trials to be moved out of the city.
