Michael Smerconish: Obama: Substance Not Smears
I objected when George W. Bush was the subject of undeserved, hyperbolic criticism, but the baseless scorn heaped upon President Obama makes Bush's detractors look diplomatic. The president, the office, and our nation deserve better.
Geoffrey R. Stone: The Perils of Income Inequality
The Sixteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which authorized the federal government to impose an income tax on individuals, will turn 100 years old on February 3. It was designed precisely to protect the 47 percent of Americans Mitt Romney has reviled.
Maxwell Kennedy: The End of the Democratic Party
Both parties are more or less the same. If the Democratic Party continues to fight for the same old issues, it will be abandoned, and cease to exist.
Will.i.am: #GreatTimes: My New Election Song
I made a new song that's a reminder of what this election is all about... we are all fighting for a better life... we are all wanting greater opportunities... we are all looking for solutions... we are all hurting wishing and praying for "Great Times."

WYLL Racist advertising and broadcasts

Subject: WYLL Racist advertising and broadcasts

Dear Sir/Madam:

I have been following this presidential and congressional election since 2010. Its what I do. I have been a Christian for over 20 years. I am not perfect. I have been listening to WYLL for years, that is coming to a halt. I am tired of hearing your "paid" sponsors talking about President Obama as if Romney is a Christian. Romney is a Mormon. Mormons do not believe Jesus is God. I hope WYLL believes Jesus is God or do I have that wrong also.

I am tired of hearing people like Pastor Jeffries and Michael Yuseff talk about President Obama as if Romney is a better choice. Romney is a liar and a deceitful person. If your defense for this "paid" advertisement and "false" teachers of the Bible is "freedom of speech" and "money" for advertisement, then your mission and vision for Christianity is distorted. I will ask my Christian and secular friends to find another "supposedly" Christian station to hear God's word, because it is severly distorted at WYLL. I believe WYLL has shown its true colors during the election cycle of a "black" man. I will tell them they can find their favorite Bible study individuals on their websites or other radio outlets.

I will post this on my blog, Twitter, and Facebook at http://clickforjusticeandequality.blogspot.com/, http://www.twitter.com/clickforjustice,          http://www.facebook.com/fnancejr
These pastors and WYLL need to read Dr. Tony Evans new book on how Christians should vote or Dr. R.C. Sproul's teachings on the Bible. When we attack or confess to address issues in a "Christian" way, we should assure ourselves and our audiences that our position is Biblically based and the scriptures used are not taken out of its context.

Jared Bernstein: October Jobs Report: First Impressions
Given the acceleration in payroll growth, the upward revisions to prior months payroll gains, the trend decline in unemployment, and the pick-up in labor force participation, today's report is generally pointing to job market that's showing signs of improvement.
Oprah Winfrey: The Conversation
Understanding that we are all more powerful than we know -- that we are all connected to something bigger than ourselves -- is the real conversation I want to have in the new OWN section on HuffPost. In many ways, it is the only conversation, I believe, truly worth having.
Tom Zeller Jr.: Hurricane Sandy's Link To Climate Change: Does It Matter?
Some stakeholders view the disaster as evidence of climate change, while others say such storms might happen randomly anyway. At this stage of scientific understanding, it cannot be denied that the latter camp has a fair point. But with millions of Americans still lacking power, some climate experts suggest an equally fair retort would be, so what?

Dr. Peggy Drexler: Talking to Kids About Politics
Talking to kids about politics helps them understand the world and their place in it, and starts to shift their thinking from "me" to "we." Which is why it's important to discuss with kids, even those too young to yet understand all the specific policy points or platforms, why politics matters.

Michael Moore: 90 Million Are Planning Not to Vote - Your Mission: Take Just One of Them to the Polls

Sen. Barbara Boxer: Hurricane Sandy Shows the Stark Choice in This Election
Hurricane Sandy reminds us of a basic truth: Disaster relief and preparedness matter. In times of great crisis, it is critical that we have a strong national response to help provide a lifeline to affected states.
