Watch this video - Kraft Foods will donate money to feed the hungry Dear Friends and Family,   Watch this video and Kraft Foods Foundation will donate money to feed the hungry   More than 12,000 Kraft Foods employees recently participated in our first-ever global week of community service – "Make a Delicious Difference Week."  Employees around the world created this video to help spread the volunteer spirit.    Each time it's viewed, the Kraft Foods Foundation will donate money to Feeding America to help provide five meals to those at risk of hunger -- up to 100,000 meals through the end of October 2009.    In additon to our volunteer efforts, last week Kraft also doubled the financial contributions that we made to our favorite non-for-profit charities, totally up to $1 million dollars.  We had similar opportunity for a double match in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday in January.  7 of my favorite charities were thrilled with their matching contributions!    So, please, check out this short video, pass it along to your friends and family, put it on your Facebook page, just get the word out.  Every click before Oct 31st will provide 5 meals to the hungry.   Click on the link below, or copy and paste it into your browser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6rpkyWck3A   Share it through your Facebook and Twitter accounts too!

Read More Fox News accuses Obama of delaying troop deployment to win Nobel Peace Prize Fox News personalities have reacted to President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize by accusing Obama of -- in the words of Fox News contributor Dick Morris -- "delaying the decision to commit troops to Afghanistan" in order to "win this prize." Responding to initial reports that Obama was awarded the peace prize, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade said he was "wondering" whether the Nobel charter "has anything to do with the delay of the deployment of 40,000 troops in Afghanistan," adding, "If you add forces to a war, you can't win." Read More After repeatedly smearing people with falsehoods, Beck claims "the things that we are saying ... are true" Attacking White House communications director Anita Dunn for saying that Fox News is "undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House" and suggesting the network is not a "legitimate news organization," Glenn Beck asserted of his attacks against Obama administration officials, "[T]he things that we are saying have been checked out; they are true." However, Fox News' purportedly straight news programs echo its "editorial" programs: Media Matters for America has compiled a non-exhaustive list -- from this year alone -- documenting how Fox's news programming features smears, falsehoods, doctored and deceptive editing, and GOP talking points. Read More Limbaugh's "color-blind" history of racially charged comments On October 12, Rush Limbaugh responded to accusations that he is "insensitive" and has a "blind spot" about race by claiming that he is "colorblind," "treat[s] everybody equally" and that he "doesn't see [President Obama] as black," but rather as "president of the United States." In fact, Limbaugh has an extensive history of making racially charged remarks about minorities and routinely race-baits while criticizing Obama and his policies, such as saying that Obama is a "reverse racist" and that his economic policies amount to "reparations." Read More Fox News runs with faulty industry-funded "study" of Baucus bill Fox News has seized upon a study conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) for America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), which concluded that under the Senate Finance Committee health care reform bill, "by 2019 the cost of single coverage is expected to increase by $1,500 more than it would under the current system and the cost of family coverage is expected to increase by $4,000 more than it would under the current system," in some cases reporting the study's conclusions as fact. However, health care experts have noted that, in the words of health care economist Len Nichols, "Aside from the obvious conflict of interest associated with a report funded by the very industry it analyzes, PWC's basic analytic assumptions -- by their own admission -- are at variance with the bill and the opinions of most analysts." Read More Beck continues long history of invoking Nazis by comparing Fox to the Jews during the Holocaust During the October 13 edition of his radio show, Glenn Beck likened the Obama administration's treatment of Fox News to Nazi persecution of Jews, telling other media outlets: "When they're done with Fox, and you decide to speak out on something," it would be like "[t]he old, 'first they came for the Jews, and I wasn't Jewish.' " Beck has a long history of invoking the Holocaust, the Nazi Party, and Adolf Hitler to smear the Obama administration, other progressive individuals and organizations, and the media; indeed, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) previously criticized Beck for comparing Al Gore's efforts to raise awareness of global warming to the Holocaust. Fred -- Despite increasingly desperate attacks from the insurance lobby, the Senate Finance Committee took the historic step of voting reform legislation out of committee with bipartisan support. They're the final committee to do so -- and the negotiations over the final bill will now move to the full House and Senate. Soon, every senator and representative must decide where they stand. Lobbyists will be racing to each office, trying every trick in the book to derail the President's plan. In fact, just this week, the insurance lobby released a self-serving report falsely claiming that reform would increase costs. Journalists called it "deceptive" and said "something doesn't smell right here." A prominent M.I.T. economist described the study as "deeply flawed." It's a blatant scare tactic designed to frighten voters and bully Congress -- and it's just the beginning. We need to speak out right away to show Congress that their constituents are watching closely, and we're counting on them to say "no" to the lobbyists and "yes" to reform. Send a message urging Congress to stand with voters, not D.C. lobbyists, and pass real reform. It's becoming clear that the insurance companies will do whatever it takes to stop progress: The New York Times is reporting that special interests are spending $1.4 million every day to kill reform -- and even commissioned their own slanted analysis of the Finance Committee's legislation in an effort to defeat it. But today, after widespread criticism, the company that produced the report issued a statement saying that it analyzed only part of the bill because that's exactly what the insurance industry paid them to do! And we just got word that insurance companies are spending $1 million on a misleading ad to scare seniors out of supporting reform. The ad falsely declares that reform will cause cuts in Medicare, even though reform is crucial to ensuring the long-term survival of the program and preserving the care that millions of seniors depend on. Now that all five congressional committees have passed reform legislation, we're sure to see attacks that are even more extreme. It's up to us to make sure that ordinary Americans continue to be heard louder than the Washington lobbyists. Nobel jury speaks out in defense of Obama prize - Yahoo! News

One judge noted with surprise that President Barack Obama "didn't look particularly happy" at being named the Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Another marveled at how critics could be so patronizing.

In a rare public defense of a process normally shrouded in secrecy, four of the Nobel jury's five judges spoke out Tuesday about a selection they said was both merited and unanimous.

To those who say a Nobel is too much too soon in Obama's young presidency, "We simply disagree ... He got the prize for what he has done," committee chairman Thorbjorn Jagland told The Associated Press by telephone from Strasbourg, France, where he was attending meetings of the Council of Europe.
